BOSTON — Two people were rescued after they became trapped on the fifth floor of a Boston apartment building that caught fire Tuesday night. Fire crews responded to the home on Hemenway Street just after 10 p.m. and found that two people were still trapped inside, the Boston Fire Department said. Firefighters were able to reach the top floor by using a ladder attached to the truck and were able to get the two residents safely out of the building. No one inside the apartment was injured, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital for undisclosed injuries, the Boston Fire Department said. As of Wednesday afternoon, there has been no update to the firefighter's condition. Eight people are now being assisted by the American Red Cross as they were displaced from their apartments. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
