DANBURY, CT — State Rep. David Arconti has announced he will not be seeking re-election in November. Arconti, the chairman of the Energy & Technology Committee in the House, is currently in his fifth term representing Danbury residents in the 109th District. "Serving in the state legislature has been a great honor and I am grateful to all the constituents in my district who supported me and entrusted me to be their voice in Hartford," Arconti said in a news release. "Making this decision wasn't easy, but after serious consideration, I have decided that the time has come to pursue other interests." Arconti was first elected to the state House of Representatives in 2012. He has also served as vice chair of the Environment Committee and the General Law Committee. "Representing Danbury in this chamber has been a great honor, and I am proud of the work we have accomplished together," Arconti said, addressing the House on Wednesday. "I first and foremost want to thank my constituents for the opportunity to serve them for a decade as their state representative."
