WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Comcast's license is up for renewal in Washington Township, Morris County and a public hearing is happening at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Washinton Township Mayor Matt Murello informed residents in a public post that tonight's Committee work session will include a public hearing "concerning the renewal of the Comcast Franchise Agreement in Washington Township."
Comcast's Senior Director for Government and Regulatory Affairs will make a presentation and residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments, the Mayor said.
Comcast of Northwest New Jersey, LLC has applied to renew its contract with Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey, as a "cable television franchise."
Comcast is a registered corporation in the state of Delaware, according to the renewal application. On the application, Comcast answered "no" to questions about criminal convictions, licenses revoked, bankruptcies, and other legal issues.
The meeting is in person, starting at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 43 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley.
