DUBLIN, CA — Dublin students dominated the Alameda County Spelling Bee over the weekend, with students from Dublin schools taking the top spots in both the elementary and junior high competitions. Three Dublin students will advance to the California State Spelling Bee Championship on May 14 in Stockton. Both spelling bees were held on home turf at Dublin High School's Center for Performing Arts & Education.
Shradha Rachamreddy, from the independent Quarry Lane School in Dublin, won first place in the elementary school competition. Julie Radman, a 6th grader at Wells Middle School, won second place. Both will go on to state finals.
Kopal Tare, a 7th grader at Dublin's Fallon Middle School, won first place in the Junior High competition, while Nirupama Nair, also a 7th grader at Fallon Middle School, won fourth place.
