BEVERLY HILLS, CA — City council returned to the City Council Chamber Tuesday for the second time since the COVID-19 pandemic started. Around 20 city staff and members of the public shuffled into the City Council Chamber Tuesday evening after two years of Zoom meetings. Most attendees did not wear masks given the county's recent decision to ditch its mask mandate in most indoor settings regardless of vaccination status. The city's first attempt to return in-person was in July 2021. "We are all happy to be here. I hope you are all happy to be here," Mayor Bob Wunderlich said. (Emily Rahhal/Patch) The council meeting included a presentation for Persian New Year, the appointment of Wolfgang Knabe as Interim Deputy Fire Chief, a discussion of the city's rent stabilization efforts and eviction moratorium, the city's housing plan and more. (Emily Rahhal/Patch) (Emily Rahhal/Patch) (Emily Rahhal/Patch) City personnel will come together in person again on April 5 for the instillation of Mayor Lili Bosse and Vice Mayor Julian Gold at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Check the city's website for more information on the installation.
