NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Northampton said over the weekend that they've made "a substantial step" in solving a rash of package thefts in the community.
The thefts happened on Thursday, Dec. 12. According to police, it appeared the thieves were following delivery trucks. At least some of the thefts happened minutes after deliveries were made.
On Friday, police shared security camera video of a woman stealing a package off of a porch on Addis Avenue. That came a day after they announced a similar theft in the area off of Hatboro Road and Tanyard Road.
The woman shown in Friday's video matches the description of the person described in the previous day's post.
Over the weekend, police shared a new photo of the woman. They did not release details of the investigation but said the public can "rest assured that the criminal offender will be brought to justice soon."
They thanked community members who have shared security video in the case.
"When the community works in partnership with their police, we continue to make Northampton Township a safe, select community for our families and businesses," police said in a written statement.
