Description

ASBURY PARK, NJ—Summer school will be a little different this year for Asbury Park students due to the coronavirus pandemic. Summer learning will all take place virtually. For parents who wish to enroll their child in the Asbury Park School District's virtual summer program, they are asked to register by Friday, June 5, 2020. Sign up is for students in pre-k through eighth grade only. The link to sign up can be found here. For parents who prefer to sign up their children the old-fashioned way, district officials said paper applications are available at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School and Dr. MLK Jr. Middle School. The virtual summer program is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday from July 6, 2020 to Aug. 14, 2020, according to the school district. "Your child will use their district device and we will create a virtual classroom to ensure each student continues learning over the summer!" the district posted on its official Facebook page. "We look forward to our providing our Asbury Park School District families this free virtual summer program." APSD Virtual Summer School for grades Pre-K through 8 will run 7/6-8/14 via district-issued device. Applications available now from child's teacher or paper apps are available at DMLKMS and TMES. Deadline to apply 6/5. @APSuperGray @APDirCI_ERuiz pic.twitter.com/qLlv16utk7— Asbury Park Schools (@Asbury_ParkSD) May 26, 2020
