Position Title: Landscape Supervisor Reports To: Grounds Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Purpose: To directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in landscaping or grounds keeping activities. Responsibilities: • Be at work and on time when scheduled. In addition to Saturday work when needed. • Direct activities of workers who perform duties such as mowing turf, mulching, weed and trash removal and tree or shrub installation and pruning. • Monitor project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained • Train, motivate, develop, and direct people as they work. Evaluate talent and provide feedback. • Monitor/assess performance of others and/or organization to make improvements or take corrective action • Ability to administer discipline and accolades as needed • Transport crew members in assigned vehicle to different job sites • Other duties as assigned by Manager Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Must monitor crew work to ensure quality • Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals with different personalities • Ability to maintain composure in difficult and complex situations • Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others • Ability to observe safety and security procedures • Ability to use equipment and materials properly (i.e., lawn mowers, cutting tools, chain saw) • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time without resting • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds • Ability to work in temperature and weather extremes from sub-zero to 100+ degrees and snow and rain • Ability to work 8 -12 hours a day Qualifications: Education/Experience • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and up to 3 years in the Landscaping Field. Certificates/Licenses Required • Valid State of Illinois drivers’ license Language Ability • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization Reasoning Ability • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Submit resumes via email or call or text: 312-617-7953.
