We are currently seeking exceptional candidates for a Pullets (baby chickens)Worker. This position is responsible for taking care of the daily needs of the pullet facility primarily at our Shedd,OR location and may require travel to our Aurora,OR facility to perform similar duties as business needs require. This is a full time position. Bi-lingual Spanish / English Skills: Leadership qualities, be able to lead a crew safely and efficiently . Punctuality, be on time especially when there is crew work to be done. . Dependability, show up for work on scheduled days. . Flexibility, be willing to change as tasks change, and be willing to help out other team members with their tasks. This job often switches between dayshift and nightshift. Responsibilities: • Check pullet house for proper feed level, water, temperature, air quality and bird behavior. • Check for mortality, sick or injured birds, perform humane euthanasia if necessary. • Adjust feeder heights and tables as necessary. • Vaccinate birds using needles • Clean house with high pressure air (dusty environment) Must be able to be respirator certified • Wash house with high pressure water (wet environment). • Assists with maintenance by checking the fans, belts, and condition of the houses and notifies maintenance of issues. Requirements -Will work with/handle chickens -Will work in a dusty environment -Will have a changing work schedule -Will work long hours if needed -Will regularly lift items weighing 35 - 50 lbs -Basic mechanical skills but not required -Must be over 18 and over Please note, in order to be considered for a position with Wilcox, you may not own, live with or have frequent contact with birds/chickens of any kind.
