In accordance with the Training Program requirements on the Hudson Bay Divide South contract, Schellinger Construction Company Inc. plans to provide a minimum of 500 hours of training in the following areas: Roller - 400 hrs. – Pay @ 100% Group 2 Operator General Labor –100 hrs. – Pay @ 100% Group 2 Operator ROLLER: A: Orientation and Observation 1. Safety procedures shall include: a) personal safety and protective equipment b) fire prevention procedures c) safety practices handling and operation of equipment d) proper use of hand signals as required 2. Trainee will observe actual operation of equipment. The trainee will be provided with a copy of the training program and will receive evaluations at least monthly. 3. Applied care and maintenance procedures shall include but not be limited to the following: a) spotting malfunctions and unusual occurrences b) storage of fuel and lubricating items c) pre-shift inspections d) reporting of malfunctions - verbal to superintendent and timecard notations B: Actual application or operation: 1. Basic Operation: (not to exceed 40 hrs.) a) routine fueling and lubricating b) starting and control familiarization c) blind spot identification d) optimum performance range e) public courtesy and awareness 2. Equipment interaction, how the equipment works together to complete the project 3. Roller operations to include but not limited to: a) pattern requirements to achieve compaction b) visual indications of compaction c) reason and importance of operation d) work area awareness 1) public traffic 2) company employees GENERAL LABOR: A: Orientation and Operation Items 1, 2 and 3 will be the same as listed above B: Actual application or operation 1: Basic Operation: a) routine fueling and lubricating b) starting and basic operations c) routine maintenance d) reporting of malfunctions-verbal to superintendent and timecard notation 2: General Labor to include but not limited to: a) erosion control b) project clean-up c) stake jumping d) miscellaneous items as required Please apply at www.schellingerconst.com
