Description
NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox Community Parks District's Hatha yoga classes kick off this Thursday at Lions Community Center, according to the parks website.
On its website, the parks department described Hatha yoga as a practice of "the body and the mind" that uses physical movement and breath control.
"During the course, we will discover how the linking of physical movement and breath work can begin to slow the mind and release stress," the website reads. "This class is great for people who are looking to decompress from their day and need low impact exercises that will still build strength."
The classes are for all levels. Attendees are encouraged to arrive on an empty stomach, to bring their own bottles of water and to wear loose fitting clothing. Yogis should also bring their own yoga mats and any other items they wish to use during exercise.
Classes will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays between July 30 and Aug. 27. Registration also includes a Yoga in the Park session on Aug. 15.
Registration is $55 for New Lenox residents and $60 for non-residents.
