POSITION SUMMARY The Field Mechanic supports the farming operations for multiple locations. Maintenance and repairs of tractors, harvesters and field equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Diagnose and repair all equipment used in the farming operation. • Have tools necessary to preform repairs of equipment. • Work with Supervisors and field staff. • Be able to complete assign tasks in correct and timely manner without direct supervision. • Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge to complete repairs. • Ability to fill out Maintenance Repair forms in English. • Apply safety procedures and principles on a daily basis and protect yourself and others from injury. • Experience with agricultural equipment. • Knowledge of diesel motors. • Light fabrications and welding. • Small engine repair. • Ability to read and understand company policies and procedures and implement appropriately. • Assist in problem solving and in making this a more effective organization. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to read and write the English language. • Manager details of multiple projects in an efficient and organized method. QUALIFICATIONS • Valid California Driver’s License • Clean driving record • Have tools necessary to preform repairs of equipment. • Be ready and able to commit harvest with extended hours. • Ability to work varying hours, some weekends, and varying schedules
