NEWARK, CA — The gradual reopening of stores and restaurants is a welcome sight to Newark residents exhausted by coronavirus shelter-in-place orders. The Alameda County health department officially allowed the reopening of malls and other retail stores on Monday, following new guidance from the state announced last Friday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
At NewPark Mall, more than three dozen stores and restaurants are currently open, according to the mall. That will certainly increase in coming days as stores get staff and merchandise in place after being closed for 5 months.
Stores in malls are limited to 25-percent of capacity. Here is a list of businesses currently open at NewPark:
