Salem Recovery Center Opens Up 11 New Beds For Addicts In Crisis

SALEM, NH — Granite State residents fighting addiction now have another opportunity to get clean after 11 new beds were added to a recovery center in Effingham. Granite Recovery Respite is a new section of the Granite Recovery Centers' campus that opened Monday to offer services via the state's Doorway program. The beds were opened as part of an innovative government program making treatment available to those at a critical crossroad. "There's a bottleneck of services for addicted people," said Eric Spofford, the CEO of Granite Recovery Centers. "Often times people need help immediately, and this will help combat waiting lists in the state." The program, along with 12 other beds at another facility, is funded by a $2.1 million federal funding program. The funding was approved by state officials in October. "We are proud to partner with the state in their initiatives to expand resources for people with substance use disorder," he said. "We are grateful the government has stepped up with funding to provide such a resource in such a time of need for the state's most vulnerable population." Granite Recovery Centers first started in 2008 and now has more than 200 treatment beds in six facilities in Concord, Canterbury, Effingham, Manchester, and a corporate headquarters in Salem.
