NEW LENOX, IL —The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names Wednesday of approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, including one semifinalist from Lincoln-Way West High School.
Lincoln-Way West's Alyssa Barta has been named a National Merit Semifinalist.
The nationwide pool of 16,000 semifinalists, which represents less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state, according to a news release.
