Invite-only screening of documentary The B1G Story: George Taliaferro
Indiana University Cinema, in partnership with Blueline Media Productions and The B1G Ten Network, are proud to host a private, invite-only screening of The B1G Story: George Taliaferro.
Taliaferro was the first African-American player drafted into the NFL after a exemplary career playing for Indiana University in the 1940s. A trailblazer on and off the filed, Taliaferro's sportsmanship, advocacy, and commitment to campus and communtiy made him pivotal in helping to desegregate Bloomington and open up pathways to other Black athletes on campus.
Hosted on IU Day, this screeing honors the dedication, work, and legacy Taliaferro left behind, and acknowledges his critical his influence at IU, and in Bloomington, today.
*Please note: this screening is invite only. Seating is limited and requires an RSVP. All attendees are required to register wtih their name and email address. Doors open at 3:30pm and the screening will begin promptly at 4:15pm; we suggest arriving no later than 4:00pm. While masks are not required at IU Cinema, we encourge the use of masks at each individual's comfort level.
