Press release from the Newark Unified School District: September 25, 2020 2020-2021 Sufficiency of Materials Public Hearing NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Newark Unified School District School Board Meeting October 1, 2020 7:00 p.m. Newark Unified School District Boardroom 5715 Musick Ave. Newark, CA 94560 RESOLUTION REGARDING SUFFICIENCY OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS The Newark Unified School District Board of Education certifies that each pupil enrolled in kindergarten through grade 12 has or will have a complete set of instructional materials. Under EC Section 60119, the governing board of every local educational agency that receives state instructional materials funds must hold an annual public hearing before the end of the eighth week from the first day pupils attend school for that year. At the public hearing the governing board must make a determination as to whether each pupil in each school has sufficient textbooks or instructional materials, or both, that are aligned to the content standards and are consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum framework adopted by the State Board of Education in reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and history-social science. Bajo sección 60119 del Código de Educación, la junta directiva de cada agencia de educación local que recibe fondos del estado para materiales de instrucción debe tener una audiencia pública anual antes del fin de la octava semana de escuela ese año.
