Cam Iannalfo Age (as of Election Day) 32 Position Sought NH State Representative Party Affiliation Democrat Family N/A Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? N/A Education BA Political Science (Cum Laude with double minors in History & Legal Studies) - UMass Lowell; JD - New England Law; Advanced LL.M. Public International Law (specializing in Peace, Justice and Development) - Leiden University Occupation US Navy SEABEE - 8 years Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office N/A Campaign website https://www.facebook.com/Cam-I... Why are you seeking elective office? I love Salem, I love New Hampshire, and I love service. This is a great opportunity for me to apply all of my experience and education to serving the community I have lived in my whole life. The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it. Maintaining economic activity in New Hampshire safely during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We must partner up with health officials and business leaders in figuring out the most responsible way to move forward during these difficult times. What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? From my time as Class President at Salem High, serving in the US Military the past 8 years, helping re-establish the Veterans Advocacy Society at New England Law, as well as my many years of involvement with church groups and other charitable organizations, I have shown a genuine consistency in my passion to serve others my entire life. If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency) By both NOT showing up to work in Concord to represent Salem (we would be fired in any other job for repeated unexcused absences); and, by allowing their party leaders to pressure them in voting against the interests of Salem. Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform Tackling drug abuse; Healthcare Costs; Lowering property taxes What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? While working on various humanitarian projects while deployed in Africa with the Navy Seabees, I was tasked with supervising junior sailors. Although being understaffed and undersupplied at times, we were always able to complete the assigned tasks (ahead of schedule I might add), saving the US Government hundreds of thousands of dollars. With this accomplishment my fellow sailors and I were awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal. I hope to use this experience of working well within a budget to serving the people of Salem, NH. The best advice ever shared with me was … Do what is right, not what is easy; and, treat others the way you want to be treated. What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions? I am a moderate and independent in every way. We need to be willing to listen, compromise, and work together in order to ensure a prosperous present and future for New Hampshire.
