Explore possible central public library amenities and services, talk with other residents and imagine the possibilities together.
A key step in the central public library’s schematic design and engagement phase is to gain input from Omaha community members. This input will be used to create a shared vision that will guide decision making now and into the future.
Join the conversation at our free, family-friendly Community Open House on Thursday, April 7th at Omaha Public Library’s (OPL) A.V. Sorensen branch gymnasium. The event will feature engaging activities and many opportunities for community input led by national library expert Margaret Sullivan and our local partners and design team.
About this project
Representatives from OPL; the Omaha Public Library Foundation; the City of Omaha; the philanthropic nonprofit Heritage Omaha; the Do Space technology library and Community Information Trust, the nonprofit which operates Do Space; are working together to explore the potential of a new, world-class central public library project for OPL at 72nd and Dodge Streets.
This future-focused, welcoming-to-all library would integrate books, community space and Do Space technology. Details are available on this informational website.
