Super Hero 5K Run/Walk Express Employment Professionals celebrates their 10-year Anniversary with a benefit 5K walk/run totally supporting Isaiah 117 House of Hamblen County. Since 2012 Express Employment Professionals has given back to Hamblen County through job placement services, community involvement and supporting multiple non-profit organizations like Isaiah 117 House. We cant think of a better way to celebrate our 10th year in business other than to help this amazing non-profit get started here in Hamblen County and support the children in our community. Come dressed in your favorite superhero costume and remember, not all heroes wear capes. This event is the weekend of 9/11 so it’s the perfect opportunity to honor a hero. Superhero characters in costume will be at the event participating in race day activities for the children. The Isaiah 117 House is all about loving on children awaiting foster care placement, therefore this day is dedicated to celebrating that mission and raising money to support the cause. Hero: a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. The heroes at Isaiah 117 House provide physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting foster care placement here in Hamblen County. About Isaiah 117 House: When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children's Services Offices to await placement with a foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and often in dirty clothing. Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait-a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide them clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space will allow children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCS staff are able to do the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement. "Defend the cause of the fatherless." We believe this is God's call for this ministry.
