Zora Neale Hurston and the Spirit of the South
Hurston was at once a writer at the epicenter of New York’s Harlem Renaissance and an anthropologist detailing African-American folk narratives from the South. Her work and re-discovery span the twentieth century.
Tina McElroy Ansa is a writer whose novels include Baby of the Family, The Hand I Fan With, and You Know Better. She names Hurston as one of her creative muses.
This is a live, in-person event. A video recording of the lecture will be released (via email) to all enrollees 24-48 hours following the program.
