Langston Hughes: Voice of the People | Akiba Sullivan Harper
Best known as a Harlem Renaissance poet, Langston Hughes was one of the few people to make a living as a writer. He penned plays, novels, short stories, histories, news columns, and even children’s books and libretti for operas.
Akiba Sullivan Harper is the retired chair of the literature department at Spelman College, where she served as a professor from 1987 to 2020.
