Description

Press release from the Town of Weymouth: March 15, 2022 - 9:44am The future of Columbian Square on Tuesday, April 5th is the topic of a community meeting and conversation sponsored by the Town of Weymouth's Planning and Community Development Department. The community meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Humanities Room at Weymouth High School (maroon side, entrances 13 and 14) on Wildcat Way.  All are welcome. Through a grant secured from the MA Department of Housing & Community Development to undertake a Parking, Land Use and Marketing Study, the Town retained the services of the McCabe Enterprises' team, including Pare Corporation and Paul Lukez, Architecture.  This study builds upon multi-year planning and design efforts to improve the major intersection in Columbian Square scheduled to start construction later this year.  This will be the first community meeting for residents and businesses to express their views, concerns, and needs regarding Columbian Square.  The McCabe Enterprises consultant team will share preliminary findings on the parking surveys currently underway.  Mayor Hedlund commented, "Strengthening and enhancing Columbian Square for businesses to prosper and better serve local residents has always been a major priority for this administration." This press release was produced by the Town of Weymouth. The views expressed here are the author's own.
