I am a master level lampworker searching for an apprentice to teach all of my skills, if you are interested in glassblowing(lampworking) but don’t have any experience that is fine, in fact might be better that way.. an empty vessel is easier to fill usually than a full one if you catch my drift. I am looking for a person with and open mind and heart, not an egotistical person who thinks they have it all figured out, I honestly would prefer a female over a male just because typically women are more meticulous and generally are better at multitasking, please don’t be offended males. The apprenticeship will consist of me giving you step by step instructions to perform certain tasks that will enhance your ability to help me create the type of glass artworks that I am currently working on but also basic things like prep work for upcoming planned projects. I will never ask you to do anything I wouldn’t do myself, also it is incumbent upon said individuals to be on time, ready to work, focusing on the tasks at hand. Do not show up distracted, or unready to work on your glassblowing skills, steady improvement is expected and if you have any questions, I will be ready and happy to answer. There will be a fee to pay due upon your starting your first day, you will be able to watch and take notes just like a student ought to until you are ready to commence the hands-on portion of the process and after that you will be expected to pay for your torch time/bench time. We will then begin to work closer together until I feel comfortable letting you work alone on the torch, I of course will provide all the necessary information and materials that one would need to make the prep work. After enough time/energy/experience has been gleaned, the pupil will be able to branch out on their own and create their own works of glass art from their own imagination. I look forward to finding someone who will love this art form as much as I do and will cherish the opportunity to learn and advance quickly.
