NEWARK, CA — It's time to tackle fall cleanup around your house, and Newark is ready to help with a Free Community Cleanup Day. There's a catch — you must make an appointment — and it's first come, first served.

The cleanup will be held from 7:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Newark Service Center, 37440 Filbert St.
The City of Newark and Republic services are providing debris boxes to help residents properly dispose of recyclable bulky items.
Here is what is accepted:

Dirt, construction, or demolition rubbleHousehold hazardous wastes (paint, batteries, motor oil, etc.)Household trashPropane tanks/gas cylinder If you have paint and hazardous materials, they can be dropped off at the Fremont Recycling and Transfer Station.
