NORTHPORT, NY — Nash and Stormy, a pair of bonded brothers around 7 months old, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cats of the Week. Nash and Stormy were found locked in a dark and deserted basement along with their sister, Shayna, says Lora Wild, a volunteer with the cat rescue. Shayna has since been adopted, but Nash and Stormy are still waiting. Nash is gray and the more outgoing of the duo. He is always looking after Stormy, making sure he is OK. Nash loves belly rubs and is very social and vocal. Stormy, who has silky black fur, is a complete mushball, according to Wild. He purrs loudly and comforts people. "They look so forward to the visits with our volunteers," Wild said. "The minute they arrive they start purring as they jump out for playtime. They love to be social and have so much energy and fun running and climbing and playing hide and seek in the tunnels. They have been in our habitats for a while now and are starting to think of every possible way to not have to go back into their cages when it is time for their volunteers to leave. Once back in, they sadly look at you as you walk away, confused as to why they have not been adopted yet. These two are so sweet and deserve a home to run freely and a family to get belly rubs and affection from every day. Their lives started out alone, in a dark basement. How wonderful it would be to watch them thrive in a warm home with bright sunshine, freedom, and love forever."
