HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A Rockland County resident who teaches public school in Queens is accused of sexually abusing a child in South Blooming Grove, and police are concerned there may be other victims. David G. Reinoso, 43, of Suffern, New York, was arrested Friday and sent to the Orange County jail. Bail was set at $5,000 cash / $15,000 bond / $30,000 partially secured bond. A stay-away temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim. Reinoso is a teacher with the New York City School District in Jackson Heights, New York State police said. He faces charges of first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Police ask anyone who may have been a victim or knows of someone who may have been a victim to contact the New York State Police at 845-344-5300 and reference SJS number 10500508. According to opengovus.com, Reinoso has been working in the city as a teacher since 2014. Sexual abuse is a type of crime that involves subjecting another person to sexual contact without that person's consent. It is a class D felony under New York state law: a conviction carries the maximum possible sentence of 7 years in prison and required registration as a sex offender. The state police, Orange County Child Abuse Unit and Child Protective Services worked on the investigation.
