Press release from the Norwood Historical Society: 2022-03-15 The Norwood Theater was designed by famed local architect William G. Upham and originally opened on August 31, 1927. Designed for motion pictures, it features a stage for live music and theatrical performances. Upham designed several other buildings in Norwood, including the 1926 Norwood High School building, Odd Fellows Hall, The Norwood Post Office, and the Norwood Town Hall, which was originally planned for the lot where the Norwood Theater was eventually constructed. The theater was extensively renovated from 2010 to 2012 and hosts a variety of programs today. This press release was produced by the Norwood Historical Society.
