NEWTON, MA — Rep. Jake Auchincloss has secured $16.2 million in funding for projects throughout the Fourth Congressional District as part of the Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) in the Fiscal Year 2022 Spending Bill for Massachusetts. The bill, which includes funding for all Auchincloss' CPF requests, allocates a total of $138 million for key projects throughout Massachusetts that focus on areas such as energy and water development, transportation, agriculture development, housing and urban development, environmental protection, homeland security, and labor, education, health and human services. "Too much of politics is about performance and pitting people against each other," said Auchincloss in a statement. "Today is about policy and partnerships. There's an old proverb that says 'go fast, go alone; go far, go together.' We are going to go fast, together. We are going to invest in our health and our infrastructure so that this economy works for everyone." Here are the Auchincloss projects included in the package: Manet Community Health Center Satellite Clinic in AttleboroAmount of Request: $500,385 Amount Received: $500,000 Bristol Community College's National Offshore Wind InstituteAmount of Request: $2,000,000 Amount Received: $2,000,000 Somerset Emergency Dam Improvements Amount of Request: $1,130,000 Amount Received: $975,000 Homeland Security Project: North Attleborough's Ten-Mile River Dredging Project to Mitigate Flooding Amount of Request: $1,500,000 Amount Received: $1,500,000New Hope New Domestic Violence ShelterAmount of Request: $2,000,000 Amount Received: $2,000,000 City of Fall River Urban Renewal Plan Parking Lot and Facility ImprovementsAmount of Request: $1,500,000 Amount Received: $1,500,000Town of Medway for Central Water Treatment Facility Improvements Amount of Request: $2,750,000 Amount Received: $2,750,000 Norton Water and Sewer Department for Source Water Well Replacement Project Amount of Request: $1,475,000 Amount Received: $1,475,000 Town of Plainville for Water System Capacity Expansion Amount of Request: $1,500,000 Amount Received: $1,500,000 Town of Hopedale for Water Supply and Storage Enhancement Project Amount of Request: $2,000,000 Amount Received: $2,000,000Under guidelines issued by the Senate and House Appropriations Committees, members of Congress requested CDS funding for projects in their state for FY2022. Requests were restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities were permitted to receive funding.
