NORRISTOWN, PA — Harding Boulevard was shut down in Norristown Friday after a large tree fell down across the roadway during the storm. The incident occurred on the 1400 block at around 3:30 p.m. The road was shut down between Fornance Street an Coolidge Boulevard, and the closure is expected to last through rush hour, municipal officials said. Emergency crews are on the scene assessing the situation. Heavy winds, torrential rain, and hail caused widespread power outages and traffic issues around the area Friday.
