EAST HARLEM, NY — The man accused of stabbing an employee at an East Harlem McDonald's surrendered to police on Monday, five days after the frightening attack, according to authorities. Ezekiel Dunn-Jennings, 28, walked into the NYPD's 75th Precinct in Brooklyn on Monday to turn himself in for Wednesday's assault at the McDonald's on Third Avenue and East 117th Street. According to police, Dunn-Jennings entered the store around 12:40 a.m. and got into an argument with store employees. When one worker intervened in the dispute, Dunn-Jennings stabbed the man multiple times, the New York Post reported. The worker, 23-year-old Angel Miguel Salazar, was initially in critical condition and placed in a medically induced coma, which he has since awoken from, according to the Post. In the days after the attack, police had shared surveillance footage showing the suspect and offered a $3,500 reward for information leading to his arrest. The McDonald's is just a block north of the Burger King restaurant where 19-year-old Kristal Bayron-Nieves was shot and killed during an attempted robbery on Jan. 9.
