Description
BOULDER, CO — A dog was rescued after it fell around 100 feet from the Royal Arch rock formation Saturday, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.
The dog and its owner, from Lafayette, reached the south side of the Royal Arch, when the dog fell around 3:15 p.m., authorities said.
Rescue crews found the dog around 150 feet below the arch, and discovered the dog had a broken leg, the sheriff's office said.
After a three-hour rescue, the dog was taken to a Boulder veterinary clinic for treatment, where it's expected to make a full recovery, authorities said.
Agencies that assisted with the rescue include the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountains Parks and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
