MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — This week Patch is featuring cats available for adoption at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center. Dog adoptions are currently on pause, except for pups that are in foster homes, due to a virus found in one of the dogs at the shelter. "As a result of a dog testing positive for canine parvovirus, dog adoptions on site have been suspended through Tuesday, March 15th for the safety of all the dogs in our care as well as personal pets. This date is subject to change as the situation develops," the shelter said on Facebook Sunday night. "Strict quarantine procedures are in place. Staff continue to work hard to care for all of the animals at MCASAC. Cat and Small Animal adoptions continue, as well as adoption visits for dogs in foster care."
