MARYLAND — A massive cargo container ship has found itself stranded for the last couple days in the Chesapeake Bay. The 1,095-foot container vessel, known as Ever Forward, became stuck Sunday night, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The 2-year-old ship, which is sailing under Hong Kong's flag, was en route to the port of Norfolk, where it was expected to arrive Thursday, VesselFinder.com reported. The U.S. Coast Guard Mid-Atlantic told WJZ-TV that how the ship managed to get stuck in water about 25 feet deep is still a mystery. The good news is there have been no injuries, pollution or damage to the ship. For now, it is alerting all mariners in the area via marine radio asking them to avoid the area around the ship, WBAL-TV said.
