NORRISTOWN, PA — A two-alarm fire damaged a rowhome in Norristown Tuesday afternoon, as heavy winds sent plumes of smoke from the blaze across the area. The incident occurred at around 1:15 p.m., on the 700 block of Kohn Street near W. Oak Street. Heavy flames were on all three floors of the building and in multiple apartment units, officials said. Norristown Fire Department was assisted by crews from surrounding municipalities on the scene. The Montgomery County Incident Support Team, which helps first responders manage "large-scale operations," was also on the scene. Photos from the scene showed the block wrapped in smoke and several engines with ladders out, extinguishing flames on the third story of the building.
