AUDUBON, PA — An Audubon man is behind bars after police found thousands of images of young children being sexually abused on his computer, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.
Edward Elvin Jr., 63, of Audubon, faces more than 100 child pornography charges and related counts.
An investigation began after Montgomery County Detectives received 25 cybertips from Google about suspicious images.
The cybertip contained a computer IP address linked to Elvin's Comcast Internet account at his Audubon home, police said.
On Oct. 28, authorities served a search warrant at Elvin's home. A total of 7,366 images of child pornography were found on his Dragon Touch tablet, the DA's Office said.
More than 100 of the images depicted children under 13, and most of the images were of babies and toddlers being sexually abused, police said.
Bail was set at $25,000, and Elvin was ordered to have no contact with minors and to not use the Internet.
A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 5.
