Press release from Arlington Independent School District:
2022-03-15
It was truly a team effort for art students in the Arlington ISD at the annual Arlington ISD Education Foundation Dream Makers Awards banquet.
Student artists from 47 Arlington ISD elementary schools attended the event and watched the ceramic plates they designed get auctioned off. $4,330 was raised for the education foundation.
"We had a great opportunity to give back to the community through this art project," said Linh Nguyen, Arlington ISD's assistant director of visual fine arts. "They are literally leaving their mark on history. This is something our students look forward to every year."
This marks the sixth year Arlington ISD art students have contributed plates for the banquet. The education foundation started in 1994, and has distributed more than $2 million for educational resources for Arlington ISD classrooms.
The plate project was open for students in fourth through sixth grade.
