Long Valley Jr Women's Club Increased Funds Raised In Pandemic

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Long Valley Junior Women's Club has announced it is allocating a record-breaking $90,000 back to the community this year, giving to 40 organizations and increasing its funding over each of the last two years. "Despite ever-changing COVID-19 restrictions, limits on customers allowed in the store, and the lack of many in-person meetings and events, our club still managed to thrive and expand our fundraising efforts," the Club said in a news statement. The $90,000 the Club is allocating back to the Long Valley community represents an increase of $25,000 over allocations from last year and almost $30,000 more than in the year prior. "We are absolutely thrilled with the continued growth and success of our Club and our largest fundraiser, Racks Valley Boutique in downtown Long Valley," a news statement reported. This year LVJWC said it will allocate to its usual beneficiaries that include the elementary and middle school libraries and PTO/PTA organizations, and other high school programs. "We were happy to increase our donations to our valuable local public safety organizations such as the Long Valley First Aid Squad, the various Fire Departments, and the Washington Township Police Department," Club leaders said. But, this year new assistance went out. "In addition, we donated to many local organizations that assist families in need including the Long Valley Community Assistance Program and the Family Promise Homeless Shelter, and Jersey Battered Women's Service, both in Morristown." Money has also been set aside for future programs in the schools to address mental health issues. All together Long Valley Junior Women's Club sent donations to over 40 different organizations. LVJWC Co-President Julie Adams recently said, "It feels incredible to donate to all these worthy causes, especially during this time when many are financially and mentally stressed. One of the taglines we use for our Club is that 'we do great things together' but this group of fierce women has proven we do AMAZING things together!" Long Valley Junior Women's Club said it is always welcoming new prospective members. Anyone interested may attend any of the LVJWC monthly meetings, held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month except July and August. Meeting are at Faith Hall, Zion Lutheran Church, 11 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley.
