AMBLER, PA — Police are warning the public after several skimming machines were found attached to gas pumps in Ambler recently.
The machines were uncovered on Monday, Dec. 21 at the Shell Gas Station on 371 E. Butler Avenue.
One of the service technicians told police after he found skimmers on pumps number 2, 7, and 8.
The devices, designed to steal credit card information and then used to make fraudulent purchases, are often affixed to ATM machines, point of sale cash registers, and other places where you'd swipe a card, like a gas pump.
Police said that anyone who has used the pumps should consider canceling their credit card.
Police are working with Shell to "prevent this from happening again in the future," they said Monday.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
