WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports: A resident in the 5800 block of Woodland Avenue told police March 8 that his juvenile son was blackmailed via Snapchat by a female he had friended. His son transferred $375 to the female.A woman told police that another car struck her front bumper while merging into her lane and attempting to make a U-turn. It happened about 5:30 p.m. March 8 at Ogden and Forest avenues. The incident was labeled a hit-and-run crash. A woman said three of her credit cards were fraudulently used to buy gift cards Saturday at Walgreens, 4700 Gilbert Ave.Lashawn Murphy, 51, of Elgin, was cited shortly before midnight at Ogden and Woodland avenues on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle and speeding. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
