Newtown Township To Host Summer Playground Program For Kids

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Camps may be canceled but Newtown Township is offering one place for social interaction and outdoor fun this summer. The township has organized a "Playground Fun" program for children in grades 1 through 6. The half-day program will be held outdoors for six weeks starting on July 6 and running through Aug. 14. You can pick and choose weeks, or participate in all six weeks. "Come and enjoy the park with your pals," according to a program description from the township Parks and Recreation Department. The program will feature crafts, sports, games, and playground time. For children in grades 1 to 3, the program will be held at Roberts Ridge Park from 9 a.m. to noon. Children in 4 to 6 grade will meet at Veterans Park from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To register or for more information, visit http://www.newtownfun.com.
