November 22-24 (formerly Workshop Week) Current PMAC individual music instruction students are invited to sign up for an online workshop during Inspiration Week. Discover the exciting youth workshops being offered next week, as well as interviews with guest artists including Al Barr, Sharon Jones, and Karina Rykman! PMAC music students of all ages can play musical games, learn practicing strategies, or attend a guest interview and get Inspired! Current Lesson Students Sign Up Here Meet Guillaume Combet Nov 22 3pm Associate Professor of Violin at the University of Delaware School of Music and sought after chamber musician and orchestral violinist, Guillaume Combet was concertmaster of the Chicago Civic Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim and Pierre Boulez. Based in Philadelphia, he performs with numerous performing groups based in the region. Meet Donny McCaslin Nov 22 7pm Nominated for three Grammy Awards, jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin has released more than a dozen solo albums and is also a member of the award winning Maria Schneider Orchestra. Having performed throughout the world, including at the Newport Jazz Festival, he is probably best known for his work as the band leader for David Bowie's Grammy Award winning last album, Blackstar, as well as a posthumous Bowie album titled No Plan. Meet Sharon Jones Nov 23 at 4pm Jazz vocalist Sharon Jones is a native of Portsmouth, NH and arguably the Seacoast's favorite performer. She has traveled all over the country, performing with the likes of legendary organist Johnny "Hammond" Smith. Sharon now lives in Portsmouth, where she maintains a busy schedule delivering performances that include jazz, R&B, and blues. She is a board member of the Seacoast Jazz Society. Meet Karina Rykman Nov 23 7pm In 2016, Karina Rykman joined the Marco Benevento trio as the band's bassist. In the many U.S. tours, trips to Japan and the U.K. since joining the band, Karina has developed a permanent and powerful presence in the band, playing headlining shows, festival sets, and opening for bands such as Guster, Vulfpeck, Dispatch, and the Claypool Lennon Delirium. Meet Al Barr Nov 24 at 7pm Al Barr has been the lead singer of the Dropkick Murphys since 1998. He was also a founding member and lead singer of the legendary punk rock band The Bruisers. Al tours the world headlining stadium shows with Dropkick Murphys. He has performed alongside Bruce Springsteen and the band has performed multiple times at Fenway Park. Their hit song "Shipping Up To Boston" is featured in the Academy Award winning Martin Scorcese film The Departed.
