NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville's Ogden 6 Theatres may not be reopening in its home city, but the theater will get new life in a new location when its operations move to a theater in Oswego.
Classic Cinemas announced on Facebook Tuesday that it purchased Kendall 11 GDX in Oswego. Staff from Ogden 6 will work at Kendall 11 GDX in Oswego to supplement existing staff, according to the Facebook post.
"While we're disappointed we couldn't make a new location work in Naperville, we are heartened that we're able to keep another theater from closing," the post read.
Ogden 6 Theatres announced in early June that it would close for good to accommodate a new Costco store at the Ogden Mall location.
According to Chicago Tribune, the Kendall 11 GDX features 10 screens and a 70-foot-wide screen and was fully remodeled in 2016.
