NAPERVILLE, IL — A former Naperville resident is set to release a film that draws inspiration from the arrest of Sandra Bland, according to Chicago Tribune. Jewel Ifeguni, a 2015 graduate of Metea Valley High School, produced "The Drive," after making a virtual reality film of Bland's 2015 Texas traffic stop while studying at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Bland, formerly a resident of Naperville, was found dead in her jail cell after capturing her apparently violent arrest on video. Death Of Sandra Bland A 'Murder Investigation' In "The Drive," Ifeguni gives viewers a look at the perspectives of a white driver, a Black passenger and a state trooper during a traffic stop. The 14-minute film, which will be released on YouTube Aug. 14, was made to elicit empathy for all of its characters, according to Chicago Tribune. More via Chicago Tribune
