Description

DUBLIN, CA - A "toxic" cultural "rot" is some of what Congressional leaders had to say about the all-women federal prison in Dublin Monday, KTVU Fox 2 reported. Patch reported earlier in March that a group of congressional leaders were demanding an investigation into the prison after multiple reports of suspected abuse and misconduct. Three of those leaders toured the facility Monday and also spoke with a former inmate who has added to the accusations, the station said. U.S. Congress members Jackie Speier told the station the prison is "under a microscope now." Previously, the former associate warden Ray J. Garcia was charged with one count of suspected sexual abuse in 2021. Additionally, the former chaplain with the Federal Bureau of Prisons pleaded guilty in federal court to five felonies for suspected sexual abuse of an inmate and lying to federal agents. In February of 2022, former Correctional Officer Ross Klinger pleaded guilty to three felony sex abuse charges involving three inmates. Read the full report from KTVU Fox 2 here.
