BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The primary election in Illinois is just over three months away. The deadline for candidates to file for their intent to run with the Illinois State Board of Elections was Monday. Illinois' primary election is June 28. Locally, two Buffalo Grove residents have opted to run for reelection, and neither is facing anyone in the primary or general election. Illinois State Senate District 30 Democratic incumbent Adriane Johnson, of Buffalo Grove, filed her intent to run on March 7. Johnson assumed office on October 11, 2020, succeeding Terry Link. Illinois House of Representatives District 59 Democratic incumbent Daniel Didech, of Buffalo Grove, is also running unopposed. He filed his intent to run on March 7. Didech was elected to the office in 2018.
