Description

NAPERVILLE, IL — A pedestrian was hit by a BNSF #1326 Metra train near Naperville Thursday morning. The incident stalled inbound and outbound BNSF traffic as of 10 a.m. In a service update, Metra said it was unclear when traffic would resume, but delays would be "extensive." As of 10 a.m., there was a large police presence at River Road railroad crossing, as officers investigate what they are referring to as "an incident on the tracks." The investigation closed River Road between Ogden and Whispering Hills, and drivers were advised to find alternate routes. BNSF officials did not immediately respond to a voicemail request for information about the person's condition. This is a developing story; check back for updates.
