Portsmouth Middle Schoolers Win Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Three students from the Portsmouth Middle School were awarded with a state police cruiser parade after winning this year's Alcohol Awareness Youth Poster Contest. The girls, Claire, Ella, and Clara, who placed first, second, and third, respectfully, all seventh graders, were greeted by flashing lights, horns, and cheers from liquor enforcement officers in trooper cruisers as well as the department's mobile outreach unit vehicle at the middle school. Officers and "InvestiGator," the department's mascot, presented prize packages and copies of their winning posters — which were selected for creative artwork and messages pertaining to alcohol safety and awareness. "Even with social distancing measures in place, we were determined to properly honor this year's group of winners, who did a fantastic job of showcasing their creative talents in a way that educates their fellow classmates and the public of the risks associated with irresponsible alcohol consumption," said Mark Armaganian, director of the NHLC Division of Enforcement and Licensing. "We congratulate Claire, Ella and Clara, and look forward to displaying their posters to promote alcohol awareness for all to see."
