NAPERVILLE, IL — Indian Prairie School District 204 has named a new superintendent. Dr. Adrian Talley has been recommended by the board of education to replace Dr. Karen Sullivan when she retires in June. Dr. Talley will be coming from Washington D.C., where he works as director of community schools for Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS). During his five years in PGCPS school system, Talley has also served as executive director of student services. Talley earned his undergraduate degree at University of Virginia before getting his master of arts degree at Boston College. He earned his doctorate degree at George Washington University. After getting his doctorate degree, Dr. Talley worked as a central office administrator at Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland from 2005 to 2012 and held a number of roles before working his way up to associate superintendent. Talley then went on to work as Principal Deputy Director and Associate Director of Education at the Department of Defense's Education Agency in Virginia. In a statement, District 204 Board President Michael Raczak said, "The board was impressed by his depth of knowledge, his experience working collaboratively with all stakeholders, and his sincerity and compassion about doing what's best for children. We believe he will be a wonderful leader for our district." Talley's appointment will become official after the board of education takes a vote on Jan. 13. District parents and residents are invited to a meet and greet with Talley on Jan. 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Crouse Education Center, 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora.
