NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Business Association will host a "Cruise Night" this Sunday, July 19 in substitute of its annual car show.
The event will feature a caravan of classic and antique cars and trucks, model years up through 1995.
The cars will cruise through the streets of Newtown borough and township. After judging is complete, at about 5 p.m., participating cars and trucks will roll out in groups in downtown Newtown and through a few larger neighborhoods nearby.
Here is the map of the cruise route. It includes State Street, Sycamore Street, Mill Pond Road, Richboro Road, Durham Road, North Drive, and more.
The event is aimed to be "a welcome diversion during this time of limited gathering and social distancing," according to event organizers.
The cars can be viewed from the safety of residents' front lawns.
The Classic & Antique Car Show is typically held on State Street in Newtown, but due to the pandemic, "we're bringing the car show to the people this year," said event co-chair Gerry Couch.
